Born in 1901, reinvented the sole in 1943 by Klaus Maertens and purchased the patent in 1959 opting for the name Dr. Martens has been with us for more than 100 years. In 1960, the first model, the 1460, was launched on the market: a classic cherry red 8-hole boot. In 1961, the 1461 model was launched on the market: a 3-hole shoe. It immediately conquered the international market and in recent years, the iconic boot has been the protagonist of excellent collaborations in the world of fashion and since its success with mods it has never gone out of fashion. Because it's not a trend, it's a timeless icon.
